Veterinary Consultations in Dubai

A good veterinary consultation is not a quick once-over. It is a focused conversation between a vet who knows their medicine and a pet owner who knows their animal. At Aura, we protect consultation time to make sure both of those things can happen properly.

What it covers

What a consultation covers

Every consultation includes a thorough nose-to-tail physical examination covering eyes, ears, teeth, lymph nodes, heart, lungs, abdomen, skin and coat, joints, and neurological reflexes where relevant. We review your pet's full medical history, note any concerns you have raised, and discuss any changes in behaviour, appetite, weight, or energy that may point toward an underlying issue.

If diagnostics are needed, such as blood tests, urine analysis, or imaging, we explain what we are looking for and why before proceeding. You will never be handed a bill for tests you do not understand.

What to expect

Before your appointment

Bring any previous medical records, vaccination certificates, and current medications with their packaging. If anything has felt different about your pet recently, mention it at the start of the visit. You do not need a list of symptoms to justify a check-up. If something feels off, that is enough.

During your appointment

Your vet will spend time listening before they start examining. We ask about your pet's daily routine, diet, exercise, and environment. The physical examination follows, and your vet will explain what they are finding as they go. If we need to run tests, we explain the process and give you the results in plain language.

After your appointment

You will leave with a clear plan. If treatment is needed, we explain it fully before you start. Follow-up visits are scheduled where appropriate. You can reach us directly for questions that come up after you get home.

04

Our approach

Rushed consultations lead to missed diagnoses and uncertain owners. We have designed our consultation process around adequate time, clear communication, and a calm environment for both the pet and the owner. Aura follows Fear Free principles throughout, which means we consider your pet's emotional experience from the moment they arrive, not just during the clinical examination.

If your pet is anxious in clinical settings, let us know when booking and we will adapt the visit to help them feel safe. We welcome second opinions without hesitation. If you have been given a diagnosis or treatment plan elsewhere and want another view, that is a completely legitimate reason to book.

We will review the previous findings objectively and give you our honest assessment.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a consultation at Aura?

Standard consultations are 30 minutes. If you are coming in for a specific complex issue or want a detailed wellness review, we recommend booking an extended consultation which allows 45 to 60 minutes. Please mention this when booking.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring any existing vaccination records, previous vet reports or test results, current medications with their packaging, and a note of what you have observed at home. If your pet has had imaging or blood tests elsewhere, bring those too. The more context we have, the more useful the consultation will be.

Can I book a consultation just to ask questions, without a specific problem?

Yes. Many of our clients book consultations to discuss prevention, diet, behaviour, or upcoming life changes such as travel, a new baby in the household, or a second pet. A consultation does not require a presenting complaint. If you want to talk through your pet's health in general, that is a good enough reason.

How is an Aura consultation different from a standard vet visit?

We protect consultation time so that appointments are not rushed. Your vet will explain everything they are observing during the exam, discuss what tests are being recommended and why, and give you a written summary of the visit. We do not overload our clinical schedule and we do not use high-pressure add-on services.

Do you see rabbits, birds, and exotic animals?

Please contact us directly about exotic species before booking. Our vets have experience with a range of small mammals and can advise on whether Aura is the right fit for your specific animal.
